PET binding tapes (also called super tapes) are distinguished for their high tensile strength and are therefore used as an alternative to stainless steel binding tapes. They are stronger than PP binding tapes therefore they are suitable for binding medium heavy goods or pallets. They are not affected by sudden temperature changes and due to a lesser expansion (in comparison with PP tapes) they provide constant tension of the tied goods during manipulation.
The tape can be used with manual staplers, battery staplers or in (semi)automatic binding machines. To fix the tape manually you can use manual staplers and clips while battery or (semi)automatic machines make a weld, which is a better quality solution. Uncoilers are used to make the use and transport of tapes easier. For the protection of the goods at the edges plastic corner protectors are used.

For easier manipulation of the tapes, uncoilers on wheels are recommended, which prevent the tape from getting loose and have a handy deposit tray on top. It is suitable for the reels’ inner diameters of 200, 280 and 406 mm.
When using binding tapes plastic corner protectors are frequently used. They distribute the force to a larger area and thus prevent that the tape might cause damage to the product at the edges.

PET tapes are an alternative to stainless steel tapes and have the following advantages:
- one meter of a PET tape is approximately 40% cheaper than a stainless
- steel tape,
- they don’t corrode,
- safer handling,
- achieve very high tensile strength,
- less damaged products.
